Terms of Service

1. Who can use DateCN

• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher).
• You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and not be barred from using the service under any applicable law.
• You must not have been convicted of a sexual offence or any crime involving violence, and must not be required to register as a sex offender.
• You may hold only one account, and it must represent you as a real person. Accounts are personal and may not be sold or transferred.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Use a strong, unique password and turn on two-factor authentication where offered. Tell us promptly at support@datecn.org if you suspect unauthorized use.

You must give accurate information when you register, including your date of birth, and keep it up to date.

3. The service

DateCN helps adults meet people around the world. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control.

DateCN is currently free to use. We may introduce optional paid memberships in the future. Before anything is charged, we will show the price, billing period and renewal and cancellation terms, and paid features will only start once you have agreed to them.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, text and messages you post ("your content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and adapt your content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except where we must keep it as described in our Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you have the rights needed for everything you post, that photos you upload show you, and that your content follows these terms and our Community Guidelines.

Photos may be reviewed before they appear publicly, and we may decline or remove content that breaks our rules.

5. Rules of conduct

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In particular you must not:

• harass, threaten, stalk, defame or discriminate against anyone;
• post nudity, sexually explicit material, violence or illegal content, or any content involving minors;
• ask for or send money, gifts, investments, cryptocurrency or financial information, or promote any business, service or scheme;
• impersonate any person, misrepresent your identity, age or relationship status, or use someone else's photos;
• engage in prostitution, escort services, human trafficking or any commercial sexual activity;
• use bots, scrapers or automated means, attempt to access other accounts, or interfere with the service or its security;
• collect other members' personal data or use the service for any unlawful purpose.

6. Safety and other members

We do not conduct criminal background checks or verify the identity of members, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any member on or off the service. Please read our Safety Tips, take care when communicating with people you have not met, and use the report and block tools.

Your interactions with other members, including any meeting in person, are solely between you and them.

7. Reporting, moderation and enforcement

You can report profiles, photos and messages from within the service. We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, suspend or permanently close accounts that break these terms, and may preserve information and cooperate with law enforcement where required by law or to protect safety.

If we restrict your account you can appeal from your account settings; we will review appeals in good faith.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in settings. Deletion starts a 30-day cooling-off period during which you can cancel; after that your account is permanently deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if required by law, or if we stop providing the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that you will find a match.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, or for damages arising from the conduct of any member. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

11. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your use of the service or your breach of these terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you live in the EU, the UK or another country whose laws give you the right to bring proceedings in your home courts or to rely on local mandatory protections, you keep those rights.

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern informally.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in advance through the service or by email. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
